Editor in Chief - Jennie Yu

Jennie Yu is the proud editor-in-chief of Galaxy News Network, boasting a staff that is five whole people strong. She began her storied foray into journalism on Whitman’s Black&White in 2015 as a feature writer, and has since been mentored by the great Nicholas Confino, B&W teacher sponsor and adviser extraordinaire. Jennie was simply too intelligent for the prestigious institution of Pyle University (sorry Abbi), choosing instead to channel her inner meerkat and scurry, sniff, FLINCH her way to this editor-in-chief position. When not at GNN headquarters, she can be found teching (backstage right) at Whitman Drama, where her job description as an Assistant Stage Manager is simply to yell very loudly at unruly performers. Jennie would also like you to know that she is a Libra, and enjoys long romantic walks along Bethesda Row. :)

Webmaster/Anchorman - Sean Silvia

GNN’s Sean Silvia is an experienced journalist with no previous journalistic experience. He is glad to serve the American public of period 8 Lang with pride, and combat the evil forces of misinformation and unfactual statements as they worm their way into the hearts of unknowing voters. When not composing generic news music, Silvia spends his time clocking thankless hours in the darkness of the editing room to pull together weekly update videos that are both informative and engaging, and of the finest lowest quality. His news anchoring style can be best described as “unique” (Wash-a-ton Post) and “genuinely terrifying” (Yew Nork Times). Silvia is based out of Bethesda Maryland, but is truly at home on the scorching deserts and expansive ravines of the Red Planet.

Pollster - Abbi Audas

Abbi Audas is the pollster for GNN’s broadcasting of the political election.  With Audas’ polling the broadcasting for the election will go to in-depth grounds of reporting and updating the Whitman community on who will soon be the president-elect of 2016 campaign. Since the start of her career in 2015, Audas has productively dedicated time as a journalist of the prestigious newspaper, The Black and White(B&W).  With inspiration to broaden her journalism career, teacher Nicholas Confino has left her in awe the what journalism is all about. Audas has also been playing a pivotal role as she polls and writes on the coverage of the current election. In addition to GNN’s broadcasting, Audas will make an appearance on Whitman shorts to discuss controversies that have emerged within the election. Audas graduated from the prestigious institution located in America’s heartland, Pyle University in 2013.  Audas is based in Bethesda Maryland.

Journalist - Emma Sorkin

Emma Sorkin is thankful for the illustrious opportunity to work as a GNN journalist and news correspondent for this monumental election cycle. Sorkin writes in-depth articles covering the controversies, news and daily events of this whirlwind campaign. Her career began as an opinion writer on the highly regarded newspaper, The Black and White (B&W) under the fearless leadership of her gallant advisor, Nick Confino. She has proudly continued the B&W tradition of finding the angle to every story. When not reporting, Sorkin spends her time swimming with orca whales in the deep blue of the pacific ocean.

Journalist - Jared Levine

Jared Levine is honored to have begun his journalistic career at GNN.  His trademark raw and unorthodox style of interview tears down candidates facades, revealing who they really are on the inside.  He will gladly apply his skills to the Derenberger 2016-2017 election, diligently pursuing candidate wherever they may be, covering everything from scandals to viewpoints in this groundbreaking clash.
